Port Jervis Free Library Patron Guidelines
(Please review before making an appointment to visit the library)

The Port Jervis Free Library is now open for limited services. To insure consistent use of appropriate safety practices, please review and agree to the following practices before entering, which will apply until the Board determines otherwise:
  • I will return all materials to the outside book drop before entering the building.
  • I will make my visit as quick and efficient as possible and am aware of a set time limit in the building.
  • I agree to wear a mask covering my mouth and nose at all times in the library; if I am medically unable to wear a mask, I will call the library at (845) 856-7313 x 3 to arrange for curbside pickup of materials (according to Executive Order 202.17).
  • I will use Instant Hand Sanitizer and have my temperature taken upon entry into the library.
  • I will avoid touching my face and mask while in the library’s premises.
  • I will keep a distance of at least 6 (six) feet from library staff and other patrons who are not members of my household.
  • I will only touch items that I plan to checkout or will place them on carts provided.
  • I understand that children must remain with an adult at all times.
  • I understand that the community room, story hour room, public bathrooms and the basement level are closed to visitors.
  • I will abide by any other safety-related requests made by library staff.
  • I will abide by the Temporary Safety Practices Policy.
  • I understand that these practices are currently the rules of the library and they are being enforced both for my safety and that of the public as currently advised by the Center of Disease Control.
By entering the Library I agree to adhere to this policy.
